Socially Engaged Artistic Practice Panels
In conjunction with a shared voter registration effort, ProArts scheduled a series of forums for 10/7/202 - 10/9/2020 which highlighted members of our community whose artistic practice is grounded in social justice and community engagement. As academic and art institutions, it is vital to work to critically examine, disrupt, and dismantle the anti-Black racism, white supremacy, and colonization that served as a foundation for this country's current educational systems. Through these forums, we aimed to center the artistic voices that challenge us to confront these realities and do the difficult work necessary to transform our systems, our institutions, and ourselves. We hope the ongoing results of these efforts will encourage our community to mobilize and engage in meaningful work and conversation, and encourage you to watch the recorded conversations below.
